국제 질병 및 건강문제 분류(ICD-10)에 있어서의 발달장애
세계보건기구(WHO: World Health Organization)가 공인하는 정신장애 진단체계인 국제질병 및 건강문제 분류(ICD-10: International Classification of Disease and Health Problems, 10th ed., 1992)에서는 ‘심리적 발달장애(disorders of psychological development)’라는 분류항목에서 발달장애라는 용어를 사용하고 있다.
심리적 발달장애에는 다음과 같은 장애들을 포함시키고 있다: ①특정 말과 언어 발달장애(specific developmental disorders of speech and language), ②특정 학문기술 발달장애(specific developmental disorders of scholastic skills), ③특정 운동기능 발달장애(specific developmental disorder of motor function), ④혼재성 특정 발달장애(mixed specific developmental disorders), ⑤광범위성 발달장애(전반적 발달장애; pervasive developmental disorders), ⑥기타 심리적 발달장애(other disorders of psychological development), ⑦불특정 심리적 발달장애(unspecified disorder of psychological development).
그리고 ‘일반적으로 아동기와 청소년기에 시작되는 행동 및 정서 장애(behavioral and emotional disorders with onset usually occurring in childhood and adolescence’라는 분류항목에는 다음과 같은 장애들을 포함시키고 있다: ①과다성 운동장애(hyperkinetic disorders), ②품행장애(conduct disorders), ③품행과 정서의 혼재성 장애(mixed disorders of conduct and emotions), ④특히 아동기에 시작되는 정서장애(emotional disorders with onset specific to childhood), ⑤특히 아동기와 청소년기에 시작되는 사회적 기능수행 장애(disorders of social functioning with onset specific to childhood and adolescence), ⑥틱장애(tic disorders), ⑦일반적으로 아동기와 청소년기에 시작되는 기타 행동 및 정서 장애(other behavioral and emotional disorders with onset usually occurring in childhood and adolescence).
